About "Dependable Embedded OS R&D Center"

Dependable Embedded OS Research and Development Center (DEOSC) was established in the research area of gDependable embedded operating systems for practical useh in Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology (CREST) program of JST.
The objectives of the Center are to demonstrate the deliverables can be used in practical applications, to provide basis for the future research and development by providing them as open source codes, and to maximize the output from the research teams of the research area.

About "DEOS Project"

Today, embedded systems are useful to people all over the world, bringing convenience and comfort into the lives of a ubiquitous society. However they are increasing in complexity and scale, and most of them are connected to network. Those systems inherently involve the incompleteness of specifications and implementations as well as the uncertainty of environment and requirement changes to systems in operation, which are called Open Systems.

Dr. Mario Tokoro, the Research Supervisor of DEOS Project, set the direction that we need to focus on Open Systems Dependability to achieve our goal of DEOS project.

The White Paper is now available. It describes a need to establish a method to build and to operate systems based on Open Systems Dependability concept and an approach of DEOS project.
